I am excited to announce that I will have a piece in the San Diego ArtExpo, curated by Mark Murphy and opening the weekend of SD Comic Con. I will be exhibiting one of my largest artworks to date, measuring in at a staggering 12"x12". ArtExpo is a curated selection of emerging artists and DIY- creatives who create hand-made objects, original artwork, silkscreens and collectibles. All postcards will be priced $5-$50, and available to take home right away showing your support along with a honey tasting feature local harvested honey. On the back of each postcard is a special message about how you can help the bees. 100% of all sales go to HoneyLove and their commitment to save the bees! The Marcas Contemporary Art grand opening show "Corrective Course" takes place tonight from 7-10pm. Previews and write-ups for the show can be seen on Juxtapoz, Hi-Fructose, and Platinum Cheese. I hope to see you tonight for the launch of this exciting new gallery space! On July 5th, the Santa Ana area will be welcoming a new addition to its thriving arts scene with the grand opening of Marcas Contemporary Art and its inaugural exhibition entitled “Corrective Course”. This gallery is to make its debut in the East End of Santa Ana’s Downtown District by presenting emerging cutting edge Contemporary Art. Marcas Contemporary Art is a collaborative project from curator Dana Jazayeri and artist Steven Daily. This creative space is set to gather art enthusiasts and encourage an interaction of ideas. “Corrective Course” will feature 40 contemporary artists, many making their debut in Orange county and one, Peruvian muralist Jade, making their U.S. debut. The show will present a variation of techniques and stylizations, including figurative contemporary painters, sculptural elements, tattoo fine art painters, surreal works, illustrations, and street art. When open, the triptych shows three oil paintings, when closed it features a cross shaped cut-out which gives a peak-a-boo view of the center painting.
